How it works
As we receive email, our filter machines check every single one for every possible scenario. We scan for viruses, patterns used by spammers, against databases for known bad addresses, etc.
Once checked the email is then scored. If it passes our first stage of scanning, we then deliver it to the our mail server. If it doesn't pass the first scanning stage, we simply reject the email and do not allow it to pass the filters and into our network.
Once it arrives into the mail server, it then goes into a second stage of scanning. Here is where the user preferences kick in and we determine if the email should be delivered into the INBOX or the SPAM BOX.
Email Filtering for Your Business
You don' t need to have your email hosted by CrafTech in order to take advantage of our filters.
If you have an existing domain and email hosted by another ISP or you maintain your own mail server, we can still filter your email and delivered it to your server. The only difference is that your INBOX will be cleaner by as much as 92.2%.
Technically, we only accept 7.8% of email into our Mail Servers. Out of those 7.8%, after the second staging of scanning takes place, we only deliver about 3% into the users INBOX, and the rest is delivered into the user's SPAM mailbox.
Since your email is not being hosted at CrafTech, you won't be able to take advantage of the second stage of scanning. But we do provide you with the tools to filter the 7.8% you will receive easily.
Every email delivered to you will have an additional header containing information from our filters.
Ex. "MAYBE-SPAM 6.0" where the "6.0" is the score we gave your email.
You can then setup a filter with your email client that will look for the header information and deliver it into a SPAM BOX instead of your INBOX. Voila... an INBOX 97% cleaner and a mail flow with 92.2% less email and potential viruses. Think how much time and bandwidth we are saving you.
