BIOGRAPHIES OF THE PLOWSHARES FOUR
Peter DeMott is a member of the Jonah House Community of Bait., Md. Vietnam Veteran, full time peace activist, and general laborer. Age 35. Ellen Gradv is from Ithaca, N.Y. Works as a companion to an elderly woman. Has been active with peace qroups that have been witnessing at Griffis Air Force Base in Rome, N.Y., Seneca Army Depot near Ithaca, and at the Pentagon. Age 20. John Grady is from Ithaca, N.Y. Pizza deliverer and auto Mechanic. Member of a large family of peacemakers. Has protested at the Pentagon for the last several years. Age 22. Jean Holladay from Newton, Mass. A grandmother, visiting nurse, sponsor for Vietnamese refugees in Newton, and helper in a Boston shelter for homeless families. A member of the Atlantic Life Community, the United Church of Christ, and Ailanthus (a nonviolent witnessing group in Boston). Age 53. Roger Ludwig is involved in works of mercy among the poor and resistance to the warmaking which creates poverty. Member of and lives with the Community for Creative Non-Violence in Wash. D.C. Age 40. Elmer Maas is a college teacher. Recently was released from Graterford Prison in Pa. after serving 17 months for participation in Plowshares 8 disarmament action. A member of Kairos Community and War Resisters League in N.Y.C. Age 47. Marcia Timmel is a member of the Catholic Worker Community in Wash. D.C. Divides her energies between staffing a shelter for homeless women and working at the Georgetown Center for Peace Studies. Prior to coming to Washington, served for two years as a member of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Akron, Ohio. Age 30.
